Amarna the missing evidence
Almost everyone has heard of Queen Nefertiti. She is one of the most famous names to have come from the pages written about Ancient Egypt. The beautiful wife of Pharaoh Akhenaten. These two lived the most extraordinary lives, tucked away in the city of Akhetaten that they built in the remote Egyptian desert. Many stories have been told about them. Many have wondered what really happened, and how was Egyptian rule restored at the capital city of Thebes after the Akhetaten era? Who succeeded Akhenaten? Who were Tutankhamen’s parents?

“Amarna --- the Missing Evidence” sets out to answer these questions and many more. By taking a fresh, holistic approach to the existing evidence from the time and with the help of new, previously unpublished evidence, the book adds greatly to our understanding of what has become known as the Amarna Period.
Akhenaten has been the subject of speculation for generations of Egyptologist. His strange shape with an elongated head, pot belly, spindly legs and breasts has led many to believe he was really a woman. Yet six daughters claim that he was their father. Did he suffer from some strange deformities at birth? His appearance would suggest that this is the case, but could he then have become Pharaoh of a nation as powerful as Egypt?
Was Nefertiti as beautiful as the famous Berlin Bust would suggest? Is the bust actually an image of Nefertiti at all? Such interesting questions; but until now there have been so very few logical answers.
Was Tutankhamen murdered? Why did he die at such a young age? Tutankhamen has been the subject of as much speculation as Nefertiti and Akhenaten, yet there are very simple solutions to these questions. They have, for so long, been wound up in scraps of evidence which do not seem to fit together in any logical way. But in fact, they do fit together if we just step back for a moment and take a fresh look at all of the evidence. “Amarna --- The Missing Evidence” has done just that - thus a sensible and understandable picture emerges.
One of the real triumphs of the book is the publication of new evidence surrounding the identity of Akhenaten’s successor, Smenkhkare. Smenkhkare is an enigmatic figure whose identity has never before been established. The new evidence reveals the mistakes that have been made in the past and is now able to show unequivocally who the new Pharaoh really was.

Life does not consist mainly, or even largely, of facts and happenings. It consists mainly of the storm of thought that is forever flowing through one's head. - Mark Twain
